大工13春《大学英语3》教学大纲

大学英语3
                                                                                          
(学分4,学时60)
一、课程的性质和任务
   《大学英语3》是远程高等教育各专业必修的一门重要的公共基础课。课文选材新颖、体裁多样,内容丰富有趣,并有一定的启发性。该课程强调打好扎实的语言基本功,突出综合应用能力的提高。学习课文时应从全篇内容着眼,并对一些常用词和词组的用法进行分析。
   教材的课后练习旨在复习课文中的有关段落,增加就较复杂的事物进行提问的能力,巩固课文中所学常用词和词组的用法。阅读材料丰富多彩,词汇练习注重复现,语法操练循序渐进,翻译训练实用全面,写作训练由浅入深,培养学生创造性地使用英语的能力。
   
二、课程内容、基本要求与学时分配
   基本内容:本学期共学习十个单元。教材的每一单元都由五个部分构成,即Text(课文),Extensive Reading(泛读),Writing(写作),Grammar(语法), Translation(翻译)。课件则浓缩了教材上的内容,是学习的重点内容。
   说明:建议在学习每课之前要浏览该课的生词和短语,然后通读课文并了解文章的大意,之后认真听讲课件,对文章进行细读。掌握每课的重点单词、短语和句型,并通过课后练习复习巩固。

   一、重点单词的背诵及使用: absorb, achieve, attend, comprehend, current, definitely, desire, diligence, effective, encouragement, enhance, especially, extensive, goal, improve, journey, lower, motivate, overnight, patient, priority, process, progress, puzzle, retain, review, single, tip, worsen
   二、对重点短语的掌握:as well, by no means, decide on, end up, every now and then, figure out, instead of, keep in mind, make sure, on the basis of, on one’s own, put ... into practice
   三、用连接词进行英语写作
   四、掌握一般现在时与现在进行时
   五、学习翻译的基本常识
